Come & See me at BelgiumDigitalLive is Belgium’s leading online community for all things Digital Photography. Last year, to celebrate their tenth anniversary, BD did a live event which was so successful, it was bound to have a follow-up: on October 17th, 2010, BelgiumDigitalLive 2010 will take place in San Marco Village in Schelle, near Antwerp.

I’ll be doing two short seminars (in Dutch).

One will be on post-processing, showcasing a number of before-and-afters of photographs taken during last years PortraitsOfAsia tour and this year’s photo treks to Iran and Ladakh (India).

The other will be a more general seminar on travel photography based on last year’s PortraitsOfAsia, an 11 month photographic journey by bicycle through Turkey, Iran, Indonesia and India. There’ll be lots of tip on what gear to take and how to use it effectively to take more compelling travel pictures.

So, to recapitulate:

  • 09.30 – 11.00: PortraitsOfAsia: travel photography
  • 14.30 – 16.00: Before & After using Lightroom, Photoshop & Plugins.

There are other workshops, demo’s and photographers as well: with speakers such as Jimmy Kets, Henk Van Cauwenbergh & the Lime Trio (Tom Museeuw, Pieter Van Impe & Bert Stephani), the program is as diverse as it is interesting. The full program can be found here.

Entrance to the event is 10 € , 35 if you stay for the evening buffet – I don’t know about you, but I know I am :-) . The demo’s are free to attend and the workshops (such as the two I’ll be hosting) are a mere 5 € per workshop. You can make reservations through the site of Het Computerwinkeltje. If you’re coming to any one of my two workshops and you have some stuff you’d like me to talk about, feel free to drop a line in the comments!

  1. I just ordered my entry ticket and a ticket for your general seminar on travel photography. The other seminar about post-processing is already sold out.

  2. @ Serge: I guess I’ll have to do another one at BD Live 2011 :-)

  3. Mike says:

Indeed, post came too late for booking that session.

  4. Is the flight included?? Maybe next time if i am in the neighborhood!

  5. @ Mike: sorry ’bout that: at the moment of writing there were still places available…

  6. @ Matea: sure, and a five star hotel and waiters-in-three-piece-suits, too :-)

  7. Maybe it is not the purpose of your travel photography session to talk about publication rights. But often I wonder wether photographers ask for permission of the ‘native’ people to make portrait (before or after the photograph) and/or whether the portait can be used in publications/books etc. How did you handle this making portraits while travelling trough Asia?
